No Wdding, no Sky Lantern

To get hitched or not to wed? That is the query. It never had been the doubt. It was before ‘When to marry?’ not ‘why to marry’. For ages young ladies were expected and required themselves to catch a hubby young, have the ceremony and start up home with tiddlers and a dog, and committhe rest of their days to organising a good home. Maybe because women have been liberated from what were once their established uses, that marriage is no longer of importance and most assuredly not the only path to take up. In fact many people- both male and female categorically hate the idea of marriage, and can’t conceive of gazing into a loved one’s eyes and promising entirely to spend the rest of their lives with them until the end. In many ways it’s sad, because weddings can be such merry events- especially when they feature a beautiful wedding dress and sky lanterns. But, ill-omened marriages can be destructive, financially and emotionally wasteful, and the most lonely things ever. Though being in a ill-starred relationship is also incredibly isolating, somehow with the marriage stamp, it’s . FriendsWork colleagues expect more of a couple when they are formally married and have purportedly spent so much money on their wedding day. They are supposed to be happy or to at least try their damndest to be so. As a result of this perceived outside insistence, many married couples feel they have to put on a front and cover their true thoughts. The reason why there were once a greater amount marriages or why marriages endured a few generations ago is because couples had no choice but to keep pushing on with their relationship. This is better in some ways, but in others, it is very negative. Yes there were more such matrimonies, but there were also many more desperately painful ones.
